Our company, today PROTEICAS S.A., started operations at the end of the 60s in the city of Bogota, Colombia when its founder, Chemical Engineer Julio Fernandez, mounted equipment designed by him, to process the by products of slaughter chicken plants (feathers and viscera), thus becoming pioneers in Colombia regarding this industry.
In 1993, five pass cookers (digesters) were acquired to replace the original equipment, which were small and inefficient for the volumes of raw material available at the time.
As the poultry industry continued growing as the new millenium was beginning, year 2003, it was decided to change our process to state-of-the-art technology, switching to a continuous cooker, with its complete line of production, all managed by digital programs PLC. This technological improvement gave us the proper handling to offer a PREMIUM product with excellent quality and uniformity, with more than enough quality standards to compete in the international market, offering top class bone meal.
